These is a great summer recipes, made with homegrown tomatoes they are absolutely delicious!
1 ¼ to 1 ½ cups flour
2 t baking powder
½ to 1 t salt
½ cup shortening
½ cup sour cream
1T fresh Basil
Mix and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Roll out to ¼ inch thick and bake about 20 minutes. Poke holes and then add ingredients
5-7 tomatoes (I never use this many) If you are using homegrown tomatoes you may want to slice them and let them drain some where other than on the crust.
Layer of onions
1 to 2 T fresh basil
Combine:
1 cup cheddar cheese
1 cup mayo
Spread on onion and bake 350 for 30 to 40 minutes until bubbly. Top with crisp bacon.
This is really, really good. Great for a luncheon.
2nd Filling
4 or 5 Tomatoes
8 oz mozzarella cheese
2 T fresh Basil
salt and pepper
1 T olive oil
Layer and bake at 400 until yummy.
